Our Journey of Faith, Community, and Nurturing in Unity
Inception of a Vison (1980)
The story of Berea Baptist Church unfolds in April 1980, when the visionary Sister Lillian Doresy, along with three ministers, eight deacons, and forty-five Christian friends, gathered to discuss the establishment of a church dedicated to being a true witness for Christ. Inspired by Acts 17:10-15, the congregation chose the name Berea Baptist Church.
Inaugural Service and Leadership Transition (April 6th, 1980 - September 3rd, 1980)
On a bright Easter Sunday, the first worship service took place at the Heritage Club House, located at 3340 Lookout Drive in Forest Hill, TX, Rev. Gaylon Foreman, acting as interim pastor, delivered a powerful message, setting the tone for the journey ahead. On September 3rd, 1980, Rev. Hosie Bell assumed the role of pastor. Under his leadership and guided by God's blessing, the church achieved a significant milestone by acquiring a building at 3629 Knox St in Fort Worth, TX.
A Space for Spiritual Growth (August 6th, 1984 - Present)
On August 6th, 1984, Berea Baptist Church acquired the Woodland Heights Baptist at 6901 Forest Hill Drive in Forest Hill, TX. This new edifice became the present home of the church, featuring a spacious facility capable of accommodating up to 650 members, along with ten classrooms and kitchen facilities. In 2022, Berea Baptist Chruch welcomed Pastor Quincy L. Randall as their shepherd and leader. Since his induction, affectionately known as Pastor Q, he has faithfully fulfilled his godly obligations, teaching and guiding the congregation.
In recognition of 44 years of faithful service, on April 14th, 2024, by the authority vested in Mrs. Stephanie Boardingham, the Mayor of Forest Hill, and in accordance with the decisions of the Council, it is hereby proclaimed that April 14th, 2024, shall be recognized and celebrated as 'Berea Baptist Church Day'.
